REMOTE TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Technical support when you need it.

Marine automation systems do not always fail when an engineer is already onboard. Our remote technical support service helps identify, diagnose and resolve automation, control and communication issues before they become larger operational problems.

01 — REMOTE ASSISTANCE

Diagnose the problem before sending the engineer.

Remote access can significantly reduce the time required to understand an automation problem. By analysing controller status, alarms, communication diagnostics, software behaviour and system parameters, we can often identify the root cause before an onboard visit becomes necessary.

When physical intervention is required, remote diagnostics also help define what needs to be checked, which components may be involved and what preparation should be made before the engineer arrives onboard.

02 — SUPPORT CAPABILITIES

Remote support across the automation system.

Our support covers the software, control and communication layers of marine automation systems and their connected equipment.

01

PLC & Controller Diagnostics

Analyse controller status, program behaviour, I/O conditions, faults, interlocks and control logic to identify abnormal system behaviour.

02

HMI & SCADA Support

Investigate operator interface problems, alarms, visualisation issues, trends, data display problems and system configuration.

03

Communication Troubleshooting

Analyse communication faults between PLCs, HMIs, remote I/O, drives, generators and third-party equipment.

04

Software & Parameter Support

Support software configuration, parameter checks, controller settings and controlled modifications where remote access is available.

05

Alarm & Event Analysis

Review alarm history, event sequences and system behaviour to distinguish between the initiating fault and its resulting alarms.

06

Engineering Assistance

Provide technical guidance to onboard engineers and vessel personnel during troubleshooting, testing and system recovery.

03 — HOW WE WORK

A structured approach to remote troubleshooting.

The objective is not simply to reset an alarm. We work towards identifying the underlying cause and determining the most practical path to recovery.

01

Understand the Situation

Gather information from the vessel, identify the affected system and establish when and how the problem occurred.

02

Analyse the System

Review alarms, diagnostics, controller status, communication behaviour and available system data.

03

Identify the Cause

Separate the initiating fault from secondary alarms and determine the most likely source of the problem.

04

Recover & Verify

Guide corrective action, verify system behaviour and, where necessary, determine the next steps for onboard intervention.

04 — SYSTEMS

Support where control, power and data meet.

Marine automation problems frequently cross system boundaries. Our engineering approach considers the complete control environment rather than treating each component in isolation.

IAS / AMS

Integrated automation, alarm management, machinery monitoring, control functions and operator interfaces.

PMS

Generator control, synchronisation, load sharing, power management and related control functions.

PLC / HMI / SCADA

Controller applications, visualisation systems, supervisory interfaces and data communication.

Industrial Networks

Communication between automation controllers, remote I/O, instrumentation and third-party systems.

05 — REMOTE TO ONBOARD

Remote support does not replace onboard engineering. It makes it more effective.

Some problems can be resolved remotely. Others require physical inspection, measurements, component replacement or commissioning work onboard. In those cases, remote diagnostics help prepare the intervention before the engineer arrives.

06 — NEED TECHNICAL SUPPORT?

Tell us what is happening on the vessel.

Share the symptoms, alarms, affected equipment and available diagnostic information. Our engineers can help determine the next step — remotely where possible, onboard when necessary.
