COMMISSIONING PHILOSOPHY

Commissioning is where engineering becomes a working vessel system.

Marine automation involves many interconnected systems, signals and equipment from different manufacturers. A successful commissioning process therefore requires more than checking individual components.

We verify the complete control chain — from field instrumentation and I/O to PLC logic, HMI interfaces, alarms, communication networks and higher-level vessel systems.

Our objective is simple: when the vessel enters operation, the automation system should behave as a complete and predictable system rather than a collection of individual components.

OUR PROCESS

Structured commissioning from FAT to sea.

Each commissioning project is planned around the vessel, automation architecture and contractual test requirements. Testing progresses from individual functions to complete operational scenarios.

01 — FAT

Factory Acceptance Test

Verification of PLC software, HMI screens, alarm functions, control sequences, communication and system behaviour before delivery or installation.

02 — INSTALLATION

Site & Installation Verification

I/O checks, panel verification, field wiring checks, network connectivity and communication testing after equipment is installed onboard.

03 — SAT

Site Acceptance Testing

Functional testing of the installed system together with machinery interfaces, alarms, interlocks and operator controls.

04 — HARBOUR

Harbour Tests

Integrated operational tests under controlled conditions before departure, including generator, machinery and vessel control sequences.

05 — SEA TRIAL

Sea Trial Support

Verification of system performance during actual vessel operation, including control sequences, power management and integrated machinery functions.

06 — HANDOVER

Final Verification

Final functional checks, documentation, outstanding issue resolution and support during system handover to the vessel’s operating team.
